Happy New Year!
The holiday season has ended and a new calendar year has begun. This is the time when many people evaluate their lives and hit “reset” in areas that need improvement. The old “new year’s resolution.” Some take their resolutions more seriously than others. They join gyms or churches or charitable organizations. They start drinking smoothies and stop smoking cigarettes. They rearrange their schedules to be home more and stressed less. Others are merely “wishful thinkers.” Their resolutions are basically a list of things they would like to do, but probably won’t. I have fallen into both categories over the years.
I recommend making new year’s resolutions. With the fresh start of a new year comes renewed focus and increased optimism. It is a time to begin again. My new year’s resolutions include studying the Bible with my children on a daily basis, being more content, and losing some weight. Pray for my success!
If there are areas in your life that need to be worked on, now is a good time to hit “reset.” If you are not where you need to be spiritually, please know that Jesus Christ can turn your mess into a message. He can make a new you in the new year (2 Corinthians 5:17). Will you let Him do that? Happy New Year!
